"See, to go right you push the stick this way......uh oh..........."

On August 3rd 1994, a wheel equipped Champion 7GCBC crashed shortly after take off from Nelson Strip in North Pole Alaska.  The pilot told an FAA investigator that shortly after takeoff he applied right aileron to correct a slight drift to the left but that increased inputs of right aileron exacerbated the left left banking tendency of the airplane.  The airplane subsequently collided with the ground.  This was the first flight of the airplane after a complete rebuild by the owner/pilot.  A post accident inspection revealed that the airplane ailerons were rigged backwards.  The aircraft sustained substantial damage and the pilot was not injured.
